Steps To Protect Windows Computer From Cyber Attack

I wake this morning and decided to write an article about most common issues that daily faced by IT employee and the normal folk in there home, shop, etc. let's have look about below chart I found it while I google for "Number of new malware specimen" on past years.

as you see how has the security changed from 2016 to 2017 that helps you to start developing your strategy for 2018, this chart compiled a list of 2016’s statistics in cybersecurity, covering new malware, ransomware, phishing, and attacks due to accidental insiders.

Now add to it the fact that in 2017, there was a new malware specimen emerging every 4.2 seconds.

So what’s the solution to personal computer security? Below, I’ve provided information about a few methods that you can use to safeguard your system and prevent a cyber attack that could cost you your data, your privacy and even worse “your money”.

Computer Security - Firewall/Antivirus:

The First security layer of Computer is the antivirus software. There are several active solutions like Eset Smart security, Bitdefender, Symantec’s Norton, McAfee, I recommended the first one. Mostly They’re not too much expensive, it’s well worth the few dollars to be spending on such a tool.

Firewalls is a network security system that monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules.

In case you have firewall appliance inside your work environment on your network gateway don't exclude to add firewall software inside your windows PCs the benefit of that if your firewall appliance failed to band attack here you have the second solution which is firewall software.
Keep Your Windows and Softwares Up-to-date
Making sure that Windows OS and all your software applications are in the latest versions is the key to defending your system from being compromised. I'm here talking about security updates, not a new features.

And making sure that windows OS and all your software also licensed not a cracked because all crack files bind to malicious files.
Password Risks

The final step to protect your system is to have a strong password that uses a mix of special characters, letter casing, and numerals to increase its complexity. Unfortunately, most of the users still use a simple password to keep them easy to remember it or they use the clear hint to guess passwords.

If you have active directory try to join all PCs and increase the password security level to enforce your employees do not use easy passwords.

Internet Browser And Adware

Here I'm recommended for you to use Chrome or Firefox and install Adblock to prevent the malicious links which appear like Ads to your employees or you can block this malicious links, domains from your DNS server.
